Moamboc Mariculture is a family-owned coastal
sea farm that was established in ***4 which cultures seaweeds
variety and high value marine fishes by the coastal sea waters of
Moamboc Island, Bantayan of Cebu province.
We are a start-up mariculture
company with 5 hard working, round-the-clock villagers; yet
our vision is to expand into big scale production in the
future.
We have started
culturing Euchema Cottonii seaweeds variety in ***4 that started
from 0.5 hectare up to 2 hectares now and still expanding.
Our culture period is between *5 to *0 days with *0x growth
rate, on average, from seedlings stocks to harvesting. Our
production volume is estimated at **2 metric tons per week and
still increasing.
In ***5, we have started venturing
into growing out high value marine fishes such as Grouper, Red
Snapper and Rabbitfish. These are being caught from the wild
in nearby mangrove areas by the island villagers. It is then being
grown out in to floating cages that is being feed with combination
of trash fishes and commercial feeds.
