The security has been a decisive issue in these days that has led the penetration of Surveillance system for security purpose on a boom and gaining the attention of global investors to make investment in such emerging industry. All the industry experts are on the same page that it is the most effective measure for anti-shoplifting up till now, specifically the Products like CCTV and Alarming devices that can also be termed as Electronic Article Surveillance system.

The CCTV and Alarming system are individual applications and effective as well, but their combination gives the assurance of unbeatable security option. The primary purpose of concerned technology is to catch articles that get through the gate premises in the store. This clearly indicates that the attempt of illegal removal or displacing of stuff is being originated.

The study conducted by the Industry Association, stated that more than 80,000 Electronic Article Surveillance systems are being accommodated with different business across the globe. The installation of EAS has been primarily done in the retail sector as the frequency of article’s movement operations are greatly occurred in this sector. This system is compatible enough for certain area where the chances of shoplifting present. Moreover, EAS is the precious asset or source for the shopkeepers to examine the valuable items placed for display rather keeping them behind the number of security layers.

The experts have also enhanced the importance of EAS by giving a statement that the system is not just applicable for evacuating the security threats but also fruitful for augmenting the company’s sales, speed inventory with record keeping and enhance the stockroom logistics structure as well. There are mainly three types of Electronic Article Surveillance systems that have strong influence over the retail industry. All of them contain a sticker or tag that is appended on a product. The label gets disabled or removes from active mode so that will indicate the EAS system about inactive status and will not raise the alarm. However, if the sticker is a durable and recycled then the detacher is applied to it for the removal since the customer has made the purchases where the tag is attached to. Secondly, if the tag is disposable or paper tag then it will be taken away by handheld scanners that show the tag is ready to get away from the store. In the case when the tag has been turned off or separated by the operator then it will flag the alarm when it will pass through the gates.

EAS system claims that it will evacuate the entire shoplifting instances, but will reduce to 40 percent if reliable systems will be installed. The variety of EAS system states that how extensive the passageways for entry or exit would be and the physics behind over each sticker, the frequency ranges used to inaugurate a particular surveillance zone.  These EAS systems hold numerous pros and cons and can be treated through several principles. This is the reason why the association of Automated Identification Manufacturers emphasizes to implement the tower centric EAS system rather tag-centric technology that is being used now days.
