Growing Demand of US Consumer Devices Resulting Low Energy Consumption

United States is the promising market with respect to consumer electronics market. The households are getting inclined to employ more consumer electronic devices that require low fraction in consuming the energy of households.

A report published by consumer electronic association posted a fact that the consumer equipments only charge 12% of household electricity consumption in the prior year relative to 2010 when they accounted 21% of US residential energy. All the television equipment and related devices still exploit a considerable amount of energy as compared to other consumer electronics. The report portrays that TVs hold 30% of all consumer electronics usage, while the second position is embraced by set-top boxed spell out 18% of the energy consume among all of the products.

The picture quality is perking up increasingly for these entertainments devices. It has been examined that the flat screen technology is far superior and efficient in comparison with cathode ray tube (CRTs) due to which, the number of installed units of CRTs has been dropped. Theoretically, there has been a turned down of 23% in the consumption of residential energy by the year 2012 as compared to 2010.

The concept of diminishing energy usage has also been set as mandatory by the regulars of different states. Likewise, the state of California had proclaimed a decrease of 50% in energy utilization of the TV as compared to 2006 when the level was far up. The report stated that the manufacturers of set-top boxed also concerned with the energy usage by declining the level by 20% to 25% during the last two years.

Moreover, the mitigation in energy consumption has also been observed in entertainment categories as well but the gaming consoles is still a big issue for the industry. Horowitz, who works as a senior scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council's energy projects, notified that the customers having environmental consciousness should be vigilant of new developments in the electronics industry. Horowitz further said that the energy consumption by gaming consoles is constantly growing towards upward. These entertainment tools go on with significant use of energy even in standby mode.

Nowadays, the mobile chargers consume a little one tenth part of watt after the phone plugged out from the charger. The generals TVs used to exploit one to four watt of electricity even in standby mode by updated technology use below 0.5 watt and always ready to get the directions from the remote control. The Personal computers draw 13% of household electricity but shift to laptops and tablet PCs has led the energy consumption to lower level.

In general, there are around 3.8 billion consumer electronics items using in the households of United States that are being served to consume 169 TW hours of energy. In 2010, the total products were estimated to be 2.9 billion with consumption of 193 TW hours of residential electricity.
