Honda Enlarging its Network in Vietnam

Honda Vietnam Co. is the leading manufacturer of automobile and motorcycle in Vietnam has opened its third motorcycle manufacturing plant today and is positioned in Ha Nam Province.

The plant is covering an area of 270, 000 square meters, at Dong Van II Industrial Zone in Ha Nam Province, which is a 40 km distance away from 40 km Hanoi. The initial investment made in building third plant has a worth of US$ 120 million with having a production capacity of 500,000 units annually.

The primary purpose for setting up the third plant is to attain both environment and social objectives accordingly. Moreover, the concept behind in designing the third plant to efficiently utilize all the natural energy resources. It has been claimed by officials that the plant will strictly adhere all the environmental and production criterion not only in Vietnam but all across the globe.

The company is intended to exploit each and every advanced technology proposed by Honda in manufacturing processes of the Motorcycles and at the same time, containing diversified workshops encompass with painting workshop, welding workshops and assembling workshop to give a finishing touch. Moreover, the third plant will be considered as the most futuristic plant in terms of technology and efficacy around the world. The plant will be duly certified under ISO 9001 for quality administration and ISO 14001for environment management standards

Honda Vietnam, a joint venture of Honda has made the plant operational during the ending phases of first quarter by producing motorcycle parts with the capacity of 1,450 units/day. In its starting phase, the plant will expected to produce 1000 motorbikes on daily basis out of which, mostly would be scooters.

Honda Vietnam has made a total motorcycle production of 15 million units since 1997. According to market studies, Honda Vietnam is accounted a key market share representing up to 70 percent in 2014.
