The US Fashion Industry has been deprived with the classic fashion designer Oscar de la Renta who designed stylish and trendy dresses for the celebrities through many generations. His death occurred due to Cancer which he had been struggling for, from the last 10 years. A Phenomenon in the American fashion Industry, He designed a wide range of diversified evening fashion wear for the ladies as well as the Hollywood stars. He entered into the age phase of 82 when he passed away on Monday battling with the disease.

Oscar de la Renta had been associated with the fashion world since 1950. He opened his eyes in the Dominican Republic in the year 1932. He was interested in this not so known field (back then) and migrated to Madrid, Spain in the late 50’s to get arts education and there he met with the ‘other’ fashion idol named Cristobal Balenciaga. After performing the certification on arts discipline, he then moved to Paris and worked under the team of Del Castillo at Lanvin and then for Elizabeth Arden in New York by the year 1963. De La Renta started gaining exposure in the year 1960 when his first elegant series of designs were wore by Jaqueline Kennedy; and afterwards, he unveiled his own brand in the year 1965. After becoming popular and getting a reputable position in the fashion Industry, many other celebrities like, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush Nancy Reagan, and Betty Ford dressed up with his gown collections. Recently, a big celebrity Michelle Obama wore one of his designing evening outfits first time in her life in the starting of the month at a private cocktail party, according to News York Times.

Prior to his death, Oscar de la Renta designed a wedding dress for Amal Alamuddin’s marriage with George Clooney, held in Venice, Italy. Alamuddin expressed that, “George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can’t imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress.”

Among recent interviews, Oscar de la Renta showed his views that, “Any girl from any walk of life dreams of that special dress and I try to make that dream ‘a reality’ for her."
