Carbide shims are used in the tool holders in which indexable inserts are mounted. These are similar in shape of the cutting insert but smaller in size. The purpose of the shim is to provide a flat rigid support surface for the cutting insert. It also protects the expensive holder from accidental damage during machining. Our shims are manufactured using superior quality of tungsten carbide powder made by our company, and are available in either surface ground or lapped finish. Produced within a few microns tolerance, they provide a perfect support surface for your cutting inserts. Due to powder manufacturing and scrap recycling facility in house, our shims are extremely price competitive, if ordered in sufficient quantity. We are exporters of shims for last 5 years.
