Breastfeeding is best for your baby. Follow-on milk for babies six months+ should be used only as part of a mixed diet and not as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months.

Do not allow prolonged or frequent contact of milk feeds with your baby's teeth as this increases the risk of tooth decay. Ask your health professional or dentist for advice.

Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned after the last feed at night.

Never leave your baby alone when feeding.

Follow-on milk for babies six mths+ can be used as a drink or mixed with other foods. From six months, your baby will need about 1 pint (**0ml) of follow-on milk per day. Cow & Gate's follow-on milk is specially formulated to help meet the increased nutritional needs of infants from 6 to *4 months.

The UK Department of Health and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland recommend that cows' milk is not given as your baby's main milk drink until after *2 months as cows' milk contains very little iron or vitamins C and D. Follow-on milks can be used beyond *2 months to support a balanced diet.
