Large capacity tanks are produced in a separate line. In this production line, parts and mountings are sourced externally including the dished ends, name plates, sockets, valves and regulators. Then process begins with the shearing and rolling of plates into the main cylindrical shells. The longitudinal seams are welded and dished ends beaded. Socket holes are cut into the shells and the socket welded. The dished ends are mated and welded onto the shells. Accessories are welded on prior to radiographic examinations of all main welds. After hydro-testing, the tank surfaces are thoroughly cleaned by shot-blasting, Metallized and painted. When dry, the tanks are ready for the final step of valve fitting and testing for tightness.
