Marjoram essential oil is obtained by steam distillation with yields of usually less than 0.3%. It has a spicy and cardamom note. It is called marjoram sweet oil; sweet marjoram oil; marjoram sweet essential oil

Latin name of Marjoram essential oil: Origanum majorana
Physical characteristics:
Marjoram essential oil is yellow or greenish-yellow oil. The oil is soluble in most fixed oils. It is partly soluble in propylene glycol and insoluble in glycerin.
Chemical characteristics:
Marjoram essential oil contains terpinen**-ol, cis-sabinene, o-cymene, linalool,  estragole, gamma-terpinene and eugenol.
Usage of Marjoram essential oil:
Food flavorings, aromatherapy, fragrance, pharmaceuticals, culinary purposes.           
Warnings:
Marjoram essential oil is nontoxic, and approved as safe but it has to be avoid from infants, and pregnant women should use this oil with caution and under doctors care.
