The Phthalocyanine Green Pigment were discovered at the works of Scottish Dyes Ltd. In ***8. The development of first commercially available blue pigment in ***5, led to producing other Phthalocyanine Pigment. The resulted in the development of the first Phthalocyanine Green Pigment, based on Chlorinated Copper phthalocyanine in ***8. Later on in ***0s yellowish Green Chlorinated cpc pigment were developed.
All the commercially available Phthalocyanine Green Pigments are based on Halogenated copper phthalocyanine. Pigment Green - 7 is based on Chlorinated copper Phthalocyanine , the chlorine content varies between *3 to *5 atoms of chlorine per molecule. This corresponds to a variation in emperical formula from C*2H3N8Cl*3Cu to C*2HN8Cl*5Cu.
