The device utilizes passive terahertz imaging technique to search for objects carried on human bodies without any physical contact
The working principle is to passively receive the terahertz waves (which are electromagnetic waves whose wavelengths are between those of infrared and microwave) emitted by the human body itself to be scanned, and to form a 2D terahertz intensity map of this body after data processing
When objects are concealed under clothes, contrasts are shown on the corresponding locations on the intensity map due to the absorbance or obstruction of the objects to the terahertz waves, thus the existences and shapes of objects are detected
