Description of tinplate scrap The material is new waste from the production of metal packaging (tincans of various kinds such as meat cans, cookie cans, paint cans, steel cover for DVD’s etc.) The tinplate scrap consist of partly plane sheet and coil material Wherefrom can bodies, round lids and ends have been stamped out and partly rejected decorated cans. Quality of the steel is of a very high standard, pure with a low carbon contents. Specification of the scrap material The thickness of the material ranges between 0, *5 to abt. 0, *0 mm coated with tin on both sides. The tinlayer varies between 1.0 to **6 gr/m2 each side. Average amount of tin of all material is abt. 3 kg tin per ***0 kg scrap equal to abt. 0, 3% tin per metric ton scrap.
