UV Stabilizers

HongDa provides a variety of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), which are used to protect adhesives, plastics, coatings, and elastomers from the damaging effects of outdoor weathering that result from exposure to ultraviolet light. These additives function by interrupting the chemical process of photooxidation through reaction with free radical and peroxide intermediates. Combinations of HALS with other kinds of light stabilizers (especially UV absorbers) are often used in order to attain the best resistance to weathering.
 

· Solid, high molecular weight HALS especially useful in polyolefins (film, tape, fiber, thick-section), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, polyamides, polyacetal, polyurethanes, and powder coatings

· Excellent resistance to migration and extraction

· Less basic than other HALS, minimizing interaction with other formulation components such as pigments (especially carbon black) and antioxidants

· FDA-cleared* for use in olefin polymers and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers in food contact applications
 

· Liquid HALS for general purpose use in coatings, adhesives, polyurethanes, flexible PVC and in other applications for which a liquid product form is preferred
 

· Solid HALS for general purpose use in polypropylene (thick-section), TPO, styrenic polymers, polyamides, polyacetal, adhesives, and powder coatings

· FDA-cleared* for use in adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives for food contact applications
 

· Solid, high molecular weight HALS especially useful in polyolefins (film, tape, fiber, thick-section), TPO, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers, polyamides, rigid PVC, and powder coatings

· Increases the thermal oxidative stability of polyolefins subjected to end use at elevated temperatures

· Excellent resistance to migration and extraction

· FDA-cleared* for use in polyethylene and polypropylene in food contact applications
