Product Description

PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE PETROLEUM JELLY

GRADES: Snow White, Ointment, Cream, High melting, Ophthalmic, Vaporatum, Fibrolatum, Surgical.

INTRODUCTION: The pharmaceutical grade Petroleum Jellies are ointment-like homogenous, highly refined semi solids which range from snow white to yellow colour and conform to various Pharmacopoeial specifications. They exhibit very good lubricity properties, moisture loss resistance to lotions, creams, ointments etc. and are used as a vehicle in ointments & other formulations in pharmaceutical / cosmetic industry. Our Petroleum Jellies are stable to light & oxidation and keeps good structure during processing.

APPLICATION: Our Pharmaceutical grade Petroleum Jellies can be used in a variety of formulations. Regular grade Snow White Petroleum Jelly finds varied applications in ointments, pain balms, cosmetic creams. Ointment grade Petroleum Jelly is used in skin ointments, salves, pain rubs. Cream grade Petroleum Jelly finds its application in skin creams, foot care creams. Ophthalmic Grade Petroleum Jelly is used in eye ointments, eye Applicaps & special cosmetic creams, High Melting grades are used in specific applications where a higher melting point is required. Vaporatum and Fibrolatum grades are used in high end skin creams, ointments and Vapor rub (VICKS Type) applications, because of its lustrous long fibrous structure. Surgical grades are used in gauze dressings.

TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Translucent, odourless, when rubbed on skin and tasteless. They are soluble in Chloroform and solvent ether, but are insoluble in Alcohol and Water. They have a smooth long-fibred structure.

TECHNICAL GRADE PETROLEUM JELLY

GRADES: White Technical / Commercial, Yellow Technical / Commercial.

INTRODUCTION: Technical grade Petroleum Jellies range from super white to Pale yellow, homogenous, semi solids which conform to high standards of purity. These are manufactured from mineral oils and imported waxes. Our Technical grade petroleum jellies have excellent luricity properties for varied industrial / generic applications and have a good oil retaining capacity even at elevated temperatures. They are stable to light and oxidation.

APPLICATION: Technical grade petroleum jellies find applications in printing inks manufacturing, defence applications in fire arms lubrications, as a softener / extender in rubber / plastic industry, lubrication of battery terminals, rust preventives, furniture polishes & coatings, carbon paper & stationery products and as a general purpose lubricant in industry.
