1. Make an inspection and maintenance schedule for the expansion joint covers firstly.
2. Using a commercial grade cleaner and water for ordinary cleaning & maintenance
3. Note: Dont use acid based product to clean the aluminum or rubber surface expansion joint covers
4. Wipe the damp contaminants by a clean cloth
5. Using cleaning cloths, warm water and a gentle detergent to clean up the aluminum alloy cover plate.
6. About some heavy cleaning stains, a solvent or emulsion/ commercial grade spray cleaner may be needed. These cleaners must be spot tested prior to use.
7. For unexposed expansion joint covers, there is no cleaning required to maintenance
8. For roof expansion joint covers, it can be cleaned by a mild soup and water
