Our Charcoal is produced from different species of wood within the African origin, they include but not limited to Iroko wood, Ayeen wood, Mahogany wood, Acacia wood and Rosewood. The charcoal is produced by slow pyrolysis, which is essentially the heating of the woods in the absence of oxygen under environment controlled conditions to achieve proper carbonisation and volatility control that meets the European Standard of CSN EN *****2 for Charcoal.
The Charcoal black residue is basically obtained by removing moisture from wood to produce a lightweight  black cluster somtimes with a shinning effect depending on the specie of wood and the production method employed in producing the charcoal.
Our charcoal finished product has a clangorous metallic sound when hit on a hard surface. Its lightweight enables it to float easily when placed in water. The finger is not stained when it comes in contact with the charcoal except when the charcoal has been crushed. It burns slowly without flame, smoke or sparkling effects.
