Description

A refrigerated air dryer is the most commonly used and most econmical type of compressed air dryer for most plant applications. A refrigerated air dryer works by chilling the compressed air well below environment temperature in order for water to condense, which is then removed from the air stream leaving clean, dry, compressed air with a dew point of 2-10â�� function: Compressed air enters the air-to-air heat exchanger and is pre-cooled by the chilled outgoing air. The air then enters the air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger where it is further cooled by the flowing refrigerant. As the air is cooled, water vapor condenses into liquid droplets. The air and entrained water droplets then enter the separator where liquid water is removed and purged from the system via automatic condenstate drains. In addition the air is filtered of all solid particles three microns and bigger.
