Latin Name: Corynante Yohimbe

Traditional Use: Yohimbine is used to increase peripheral blood flow. It is also used to dilate the pupil of the eye. Yohimbine for erectile dysfunction. Yohimbine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Product Origins: Extracted form the bark of West Africa's Corynanthe Yohimbae tree Yohimbine has been used for centuries in the fertility rituals of African tribes. Although traditionally taken as a tea, a more effective and more consistent effect is thought to be achieved from the standardised extract in the form of a tonic or capsules.

Pharmacological Activities: Yohimbine acts as an a-2-adrenoceptor blocker of short duration. May increases heart rate and blood pressure.

Therapeutic Applications: Thought to enhances libido and physical energy in both men and women and may stimulate erection in men. Reports also indicate Yohimbine may have thermogenic properties (meaning that it may act to elevate body temperature and burns off fat). Also thought to enhance acetycholine release in the brain. Traditionally believed to be an aphrodisiac. Some negative reactions to Yohimbine have also been reported.
