Sorrel Juice is pasteurized and has a 1 year shelf life; Sorrel Herbal Roots Drink is naturally fermented and has a 2 year shelf life; and Sorrel Jam has pectin, a natural preservative which allows the product to maintain it’s freshness for up to 6 months after it has been opened.

Sorrel is known throughout the West Indian community as the holiday beverage of choice. In the past, Sorrel was only consumed during the holiday, because it could only be harvested during that time period. However, within the past 2 years a “new” hybrid variety of Sorrel has been cultivated in Jamaica, which facilitates the harvesting of Jamaican Sorrel within 3 months after it has been planted. This cultivar has created an opportunity to market one of the Caribbean’s favorite beverages year round.
