Description
Xanthan Gum is a white-like or light yellow powder. It is a biopolymer made from fermentation by strain of Xanthomonas Campestris with corn starch. Xanthan Gum molecure present polyanionic features in the water solution and has unique properties, such as thickening, suspension, emulsion, stabilizing, etc.
1) High viscosity: high viscosity at low concentration, high efficient adhere agent
2) Shear strength, Pseudoplasticity flow: reversible viscosity reduction and recovery in rheology control, the viscosity will be lower when the shear is high, and viscosity come back when the shear lose.
3) Thermal stable: the properties are stable at broad temperature range
4) Brine stable: on condition of high salt concentration, and even on condition of saturated brine, the solution is uniform and viscosity remains stable.
5) Tolerance to acid, alkaline: solution viscosity are stable between 1 to 12
6) Compatibility: high compatibility when acid, alkaline, salt, bacteriacide, natural or synthetic exist in the same system. Good synergism when mixed with other gums like guar gum or locust bean gum.
With above unique properties of Xanthan Gum, it can be used various application like food, petfood, industrial, oil drilling, etc.
