Description
Sodium formate is part of white and crystal powdery, which has slight hygroscope, and slight smell of methanoic acid is easily dissolved in water, slightly dissolved in ethanol; Out of dissolved in diethyl; Proportion is 1.919. Melting point is 253oC. It has strong toxicity as well as irritation
Sodium formate is the accessory substance of the penaterythritol production, mother liquor of penaterythritol conducts activating treating by means of crystal accelerator, which results in containing Sodium formate >=97%, in products, organic <=2%, chloride 0.5%. So far, the said technology has reached international advanced level and taken the leading position in domestic.
Sodium fomate is extensively used in the production of methanoic acid, oxalate and sodium hydrosulfite as well as reducer, disinfectant and the like
