Description
Doctor fish also is named Garra Rufa Fish, nibble fish and kangal fish. Garra rufa fish has more than 400 years history of curing skin-diseases like Psoriasis in Turkey, the garra rufa fish feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis and the fish are like combfishes in that they only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow. The fish spas are not meant as a skin treatment option, only as a temporary cure for symptoms. The fish spas also are suitable to the spa industry as a kind of skin beauty products. The patients usually revisit the spas every few months, some patients have experienced complete cure of psoriasis after repeated treatments, but due to the unpredictable nature of the diseases, which is strongly influenced by endogenous factors, this may simply be regression towards the mean.
