my base is in Shandong, famous for its hot springs. The sturgeon I breed live in springs where the temperature stays constant throughout the year. Siberian sturgeon usually need 7 or 8 years to become adults, but in this Shandong spring, 5 or 6 years is adequate. We then move some of the ready fish up to the northern city of Dalian, put them into colder water, activate the impregnation period by the temperature difference.
