Bodrum stones have a various using extent. You can use them for various using areas in constructions like gardening, siding, masoning, for basements etc. Some of the specilitiaties and adventages of Bodrum Stones are mentioned below:
-Bodrum Stone does not change its colour when they are exposed to sun light, wind, rain etc. (Not like Mugla slate.)
-Bodrum Stone is resistant to corrosion, outpour, leafing, breaking exposing natural effects and time. (Not like schist.)
-Bodrum Stone is water proof.
-Bodrum Stone does not involve any canserogens. (Not like Nevsehir Stone and Bafa Stone.)
-In everywhere that using of Stone is available, Bodrum Stones can be used safely.
There are two types of Bodrum Stone which are kayrak (slate) and ��ilek stone.

Kayraks have yellow, black-deep blue and mottled colours and the cut side of kayraks are various between light blue and black. Their types and using areas differ by their thicknesses.
Ones which have 1-3 cm thickness are generally used for siding (14-16 square meters per 1 ton guaranteed ), ones have 3-5 cm thickness are used for floor covering and gardening (7-9 square meters per 1 ton guaranteed) , ones have 5-8 cm thickness are ideal for fireplace building 5 square meters per 1 ton guaranteed ), and the thicker ones are generally used for wall building (1 square meters per 1 ton guaranteed).
��ilek stones have a colour between yellow and red, and the cut side of the stones are various between grey ant light blue. The using areas are generally same with kayraks. As different, the ��ilek Stones which have a thickness more than 15 cm can be used for building basements. ��ilek Stones with 8-15 cm can be shaped rectangular by hammer for making walls. Hammered ��ilek Stones can cover 3.5 square meters per 1 ton as different from non-hammered ones.
