Blackstone Armoury was established in Australia in May 2005 after a spate of near-fatal hunting accidents in Australia and New Zealand. Australia has severe restrictions on the civilian ownership of body armour, with only one state not to requiring a police permit to own a ballistic vest.

We got into the body armour industry for a number of reasons; chief amongst them was that we wanted to save lives. We wanted to save the lives of people killed each year in hunting accidents, the lives of people killed in robberies, assaults and other random acts of violence, and the lives of police and security officers who face danger every day for our benefit.

After we overcame the legal barriers to running a body armour business in Australia, we set about finding the best body armour possible. We had some strong ideas about the products we wanted to offer our clients. All of our products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and independently tested to meet the strictest ballistic performance criteria. We have spent much of the last two years bringing together the best range of body armour available.

We also demanded exceptional value for money and we believe that all of our products offer outstanding performance and comfort at a reasonable price. There may be cheaper vests at flea markets and disposal stores, but poor quality will be regretted long after the low price is forgotten. When your life is on the line the few dollars you save may cost you everything.

Our business was established to serve the growing need for civilian body armour solutions, both for personal defence and for sport. However, we have also amassed an outstanding array of tactical equipment for police and security agencies, defence departments and emergency service personnel.

Blackstone Armoury is proud to play a small part in saving the lives of those in harm's way, be they soldiers, police and security officers, or private citizens. We aim to keep our customers alive
