New Zealand water is some of the finest and most pure in the world. The water is sourced from a number of geographic areas within both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. It is extracted from a series of confined aquifers at depths ranging from *5 metres to **0 metres that are directly fed as snow melts in the Southern Alps (South Island) and Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges (North Island). Testing has indicated the water to be at least *5 years old having undergone a long natural filtration process. The total lack of contamination of New Zealand water comes about from a combination of the fact that New Zealand is sparsely populated in the mountainous catchment areas where the aquifers originate and the absence of heavy industry along the journey the water takes to the ocean. The origin of the artesian water is via evaporation from the Southern Oceans in and adjoining the Antarctic, culminating in precipitation over New Zealands mountain ranges, with subsequent accumulation through aquifers that then discharge into the South Pacific Ocean. This cycle represents a fully renewable resourcethat can be sustainably harvested with zero environmental impact. It is estimated that *2% of New Zealand water flows directly through to the ocean. The benefit is that the water is certified organic, comes from a sustainable source, is natural (not being desalinated from the sea or waste water recycling) with it's natural mineral balance.
