The Japanese based automobile giant “Toyota” came up with a new spirit by providing patents for hydrogen fuel cell technology with of no cost to promote green environment.

The company has also created such patents pertinent to its latest model Toyota Mirai, aiming to motivate the car manufacturers to install such technology.

Such declaration was made by the company during the opening ceremony of Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held at Las Vegas, where a number of automotive manufactures ensured their presence for harmonizing electronic devices for giving an ultimate luxurious experience.

The company is desperate to feature around 5,680 patents pertinent to hydrogen fuel cells, among which, a huge variety will be based on software that will direct such cells.

These patents will be easily available to the companies having association with automotive industry to manufacture and supply cars with such technology. The supply of patents is a royalty free campaign which will be validated until 2020; but such patents will not be provided other than agreed purpose. The company will critically examine on every request received for acquiring such patents.

In exchange of it, Toyota demands from other automotive companies to compromise their hydrogen fuel cell patents with them, although it is not considered as precondition.

According to Robert Carter, VP of Toyota in USA automotive operations, “The first generation hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, launched between 2015 and 2020, will be critical, requiring a concerted effort and unconventional collaboration.”

The latest model of Toyota Mirai has already launched in Japanese market and is likely to touch the US and Europe lands in the midst of 2015.

On the other hand, the company has already fixed the target of 2015, by manufacturing 700 units among which 400 units will be allocated for Japanese market.

All of the cars will be equipped with hydrogen fuel cells and would be sold at a cost of almost $60,000.
