The reports confirmed that the company was centered to launch Electronic Vehicles (EV). With the engagement of mass-production of rumors for Apple’s futuristic iCar, the SAMSUNG ELECT LTD is being somewhere neglected, which was also initiated its involvement in automotive sector.
A latest study conducted by Thomson Reuters revealed that, there are around 4,761 automotive-related patents, registered by number of companies include Tesla, Google, Samsung and Uber during the period 1990-2014.” In the light of such facts, it can easily be stated that Apple Inc. is not the first one, who is going to filed automotive patents.
Samsung has successfully registered around 3,094 patents related to automotive segment during the last couple of decades. These patents were mainly related to Hydro-fuel cells and electric batteries. On the hand, the total automotive patents filed by Apple restricted at 275, reported by Thomson Reuters. Tech giant, one of the leading companies in Cupertino has been engaged in designing ultra-modern electronic car system, where Apple’s “Carplay” is also among one of the vehicle system technology created by it. The system helps the driver to answer the call and even messages without having to touch their iPhones. This system was duly launched at Apple’s event held at May 9, in which the owner Tim Cook claimed its CarPlay system likely to be installed in 40 upcoming new car models.
Among the total patents filed by Apple, only few were related to electric batteries, suggested by Auto Blog. Due to this fact, the company is making its extreme efforts to acquire engineers from electric vehicle EV manufacturer Tesla and other battery producing companies.
For this, the company is lacking in getting the full-on support from their investors as the few of them are backing Tech Giant to get a major stake in Tesla through $178 million through cash reserves at its disposal. The debate of Apple-Tesla acquisition became more serious during the question answers phases in yearly general meeting of the company. But, the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook was constantly ignoring all the questions based on such acquisitions.
