Chevron Maintains its Supremacy by Launching Ice Based Hawaiian Solar Project

Chevron is stepping up to dominate with a hit by launching a Hawaiian solar project, keeping all the renewable energy consignments aside. The company aims to install a solar energy system at its Kapolei refinery located at West Oahu, Hawaii; for an unlimited time-phase!

The tabled projects of Chevron embrace a farm of solar sheets that will be covering the area of 5 acres having the capacity to supply up to 1 megawatt, but to its nearest utilities only. However, Chevron’s latest Hawaiian solar project would have expectedly spanned almost 15 acres using the ‘mirrors technique’ to create steam to cater Hawaii Refinery through its power supply.

During the past months, the biggest oil company in U.S named Chevron has stopped their renewable energy activities at a greater extent, apart from the company’s long-term commitments reflecting its mission statement to develop the latest and cleanest ways for energy generation in the world! A big idea with small resources or so it seems.

According to Bloomberg, Chevron has covered up its business unit which had successfully met and outshined the prescribed targets via an aid in launching high-ended solar and geothermal power assignments.
The Hawaiian project is expected to cut down the level of carbon emissions of up to 5,000 tons and enable the project to meet its core objective of making 70 percent of its power through renewable energy resources by 2030, referring to the Chevron’s filings.

The spokesperson of Chevron cleared that, they are putting it on hold because the company emphasizes over the resources allocated; or are yet to arrange some for different projects, for instance, a $54 billion project for installing a liquefied natural gas plant in Australia!

However, it is officially confirmed by Kent Robertson, a senior spokesperson that, “the company has put its Hawaiian solar plants on hold.”The Chevron’s retraction over renewable projects has resulted in raising the reservations regarding environmental fluctuations and carbon restraints building the pressure on fossil fuel corporations.

There are a number of corporations, involving International Energy Agency (IEA) who forecasted that, nearly two-third reserves of the world’s fossil fuels should not be used up if we want to secure our world from severe climatic changes! Which is, as we all know, almost impossible – but companies and organisations still strive positively to achieve it.
