During packaged, transported and stored conditions; meat, vegetables, fruits, and other food are easy to become discolored, deteriorated, and damp. In food packaging surplus liquid is absorbed without drying out the food product thereby to ensuring food is hygienic and safe. In cargo containers superabsorbent materials can reduce humidity cycling. Swollen SAP has the capacity to retain heat or cold for prolonged periods and are useful in hot/cool packs in the packaging industry.
 
Aquagel 2GH super absorbent polymer is a cross-linked sodium polyacrylate displaying high total absorption capacity. It has an excellent dry aspect and gel strength with lowest extractable polymer and free acrylic acid content. They are suitable for a wide range of absorption applications requiring high absorbency of aqueous fluids.
