Pandesal meaning "salt bread". A popular yeast-raised bread in the Philippines. It was first introduced in the *6th century during the Spanish era in the Philippines. Since then it has become a Philippine household delicacy, and alternative to rice especially during breakfast. The bread is shaped in to buns and rolled in bread crumbs. The taste closely resemles to a Puertorican bread, pan de agua, and the Mexican, bolillos.
