Alloy 3 (C****0):
Alloy 3 strip offers the
highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any beryllium copper
alloy, from *5 to *0 percent of pure copper. It possesses an
excellent combination of moderate yield strength (up to **0 ksi),
good corrosion resistance and resistance to moderately elevated
temperatures. Due
to its unique physical and mechanical properties, this alloy finds
widespread use in current-carrying springs, switch and instrument
parts and similar components. Other applications utilizing the
rod bar and plate forms of Alloy 3 include resistance welding
fixtures (RWMA Class 3), plunger tips for producing aluminium die
castings, and heavy-duty connectors.
Prepared casting
ingot is also available for foundry applications such as RWMA Class
3 welding fixtures and switch parts.
