VAS ***4A Bluetooth version

The VAS ***4A is a universal diagnostic interface for the vehicles of the Volkswagen Group and all OBD vehicle systems from other manufacturers.
The integrated Bluetooth interface connects the vehicle with a notebook, desktop PC or test system.
No cables are needed for vehicle diagnostics using the VAS ***4A.
The range of the wireless Bluetooth connection is 5 to *0 meters,depending on the environment and the type of Bluetooth adapter used on the PC side.
The Serial Port Profile (SPP) is used for data transfer via Bluetooth. Different Bluetooth security levels are supported.

VAS ***4AS pecification

The vehicle protocols are handled directly in the VAS ***4A.
This ensures fast response times and a reliable real-time behavior independently of the PC operating system. Every time a connection is established, the VAS ***4A software is identified with the version installed on the application PC. The VAS ***4A thus automatically adopts any new features provided after a new software version has been installed on the application PC.
The diagnostic application and the associated Diagnostic Base System are installed on the application PC.
The diagnostic base system can access the VAS ***4A via Bluetooth or USB.

Access via Bluetooth: After a connection to the VAS ***4A has been set up, the Bluetooth software provides a virtual serial COM port (Bluetooth Serial Port Profile). The Diagnostic Base System uses this COM port to communicate with the VAS ***4A.You need to specify this port when you install the diagnostic application.

Access via USB: You can also connect the VAS ***4A to the application PC by using the supplied USB cable. Windows detects the VAS ***4A through Plug and Play, and automatically installs the drivers copied when you installed the diagnostic application. Setup of the VAS ***4A is then complete and the device is ready for use by the diagnostic application.

Q:I managed to run the application(vaspc) but i have a problem with Bluetooth connection before running VASPC. Serial number of bluetooth doesnt match VAS***4A. "The device driver could not be read!".I checked alimentation and communication and everything is good except non matching serial numbers..(********5 In Bluetooth drive and ********9 in VAS***4A). I send you a few images.
A:If encounter this problem, pls change a computer with XP system to try again.

Q:When everything is installed, the system asked for code. How do i get the code ?

Q:i have installed the vas***4 and its ok, but do you know how to do when i finish with the message that apears when i run the program, that tell the version date has expired?

Q: My computer is Windows XP French, is vas ***4a compatible with it?
A: yes, it is. But the C: drive need NTFS format.

Q: When VAS ***4A is installed, an error message displays: FDICOPY()FAILED:CODE4 CORRUPT CABINE ERROR DURING EXTRACTING  DTSPC.PR.CAB FILE
A: There are three possible reasons: 1) your computer windows system is not compatible with ***4A software, it requires Windows XP system 2) the C: drive is not NTFS format 3) the hard disk has problem.

Q: AS***4a doesnt support diagnosing the cars after ***7, right?
A: No, thats not true. VAS***4a support diagnosing the cars up to ***3, we used to test successfully some models of ***1 and ***2 year. As for your car model after ***7 is not supported, you can try to diagnose some more models after ***7 to ensure whether ***4A supports your car or not.

Q: Can VAS ***4A disable immobilizer like EC tools?
A: No, it cant disable immobilizer; our ***4A only support reset every electronic control system in the car.

Q: After ***4A is connected to the car, the indicator light does not work, it could work before, ***4A is broken?
A: Try to test the other car models, if the indicator light still not work, and then contact us for further help.

Q: VAS ***4a can work when communicate via Bluetooth, but not work Via USB. Whats wrong?
A: there are 3 possible reasons: 1) the computer electricity leak away, in this case dont plug the power into the PC/notebook, or change another computer to test. 2) Maybe the USB cable has problem, try to change another one cable. 3) VAS***4A has problem, in this case, please immediately contact us.

Q: When install ***4A, the main unit indicator light doesnt flash, the main unit has problem?
A: Please successfully complete install ***4A software before to connect the car with ***4A main unit, then the indicator light will flash.

Q: During diagnosing, it display error message ***4A license invalid, need to buy license and the software is unable to open.
A: VAS ***4A V*6.*0 , V*7.*0 ,V*8.*0 and V*9.*0 needs to install activation file (license), after the activation file (license) is successfully setup, ***4A will work.
