Biohumus is natural product and produced by red Californian earthworms that act as organic waste processing machines.
Biohumus as an alternative to traditional methods of soil fertilisation and improvement.
Biohumus is at least 4 times richer than ordinary compost and at least 8 times richer than manure. Earthworms release plant nutrients that contain all the macro and trace elements and biogenic calcium carbonates needed for plants. The necessary plant nutrients are contained in earthworm castings that interact with the soil, forming complex compounds. Moreover, these nutrients are resistant against leaching and are slowly soluble, thus providing plants with all the essential nutrients over a longer period of time. Compared to conventional compost, the concentrations of many trace elements in vermicompost are significantly higher.
Biohumus is used as a fertiliser during planting or sowing and for plant supplementary feeding during the growing season. Applicable in agriculture, forestry and floriculture for fertilisation and cultivation of indoor plants, seedlings, flowers, ornamental plants, hedges, decorative shrubs, vegetables, herbs, crops, fruit trees, berry bushes, etc.
Properties
of biohumus: -
Enriches the soil with mineral
substances.
Maintains and ensures constant looseness and air permeability of
the soil.
Prevents soil compaction.
Loosens the soil and allows air exchange in it, thereby ensuring
oxygen supply to plant roots.
Improves the moisture control capabilities of the soil by
increasing its water retention capacity, thus protecting plants
against desiccation and drought and at the same time preventing
excessive accumulation of water.
If we will try to compare the peat moss with vermicompost (biohumus), there are lot of differences. Peat moss is good for cultivation of seedlings, but it needs much of additional components to unrich it with all necessaries nutrients and also to reduce acidity. Vermicompost (biohumus) is usefull as a fertilizer of soil, wich can be added to peat moss or other soil (even to the sand) in plain air fields, green houses (warm houses), pots, in seeding/ planting process of seeds, seedlings or plants, shrubs, trees, flowers, sward etc. You can even call it biological fertilizer.
