Manipuri Blackstone Longpi Pottery Suitable for cooking on gas flame Microwave safe.This rare style of pottery belongs to Longpi, Manipur (India).This rare pottery is made from a mixed paste of ground black serpentinite stone and a special brown clay native to only Longpi village. The pots are shaped, polished and sun dried. Then they are heated in a bonfire and polished with a special tree leaf called Chiron ni. The black color of Longpi pots is a result of polishing the with the tree leaf.
