Characteristics:  Shape: glass-like pellets Color: blue Nontoxic, odorless In comparison with ordinary blue gel, blue silica gel DL possesses the feature of quanti tative discoloring,i.e., when adsorbing a certain amount of moisture, it begins coloring and does not stop coloring until a fixed amount of moisture is adsorbed. It is widely used as humidity indicator and drier in judging if the adsorbtion & drying process is up to the standard requirements.

Usage:
1. Used for absorbing moisture of instruments, gauges and equipment in the enclosed conditions.
2. After adsorb moisture, it turns blue into red, visually indicating the relative humidity of the given environment..
3. When being used with ordinary silica gel or drier, it indicates to which extent the drier absorbs the moistures and judges the relative humidity of a given environment.
4. Used to judge if the humidity of a environment is up to the specified requirements and to determine if the adsorbent or drier ceases to be effective.
  According to the different pore diameters of silica gels, these products are categorized into large pore silica gel, macropore silica gel, B T-type silica gel and fine pore silica gel. Owing to different pore structures, absorptive performances also vary.

With high relative humidity, macropore silica gel has a relatively high absorption capacity. Meanwhile, with low relative humidity, finepore silica gel has a higher absorption capacity than macropore silica gel.

The pore structure of B-type silica gel is between micro-pore and fine pore silica gel. Large pore silica gel is usually used as catalyst carrier, matting agent, and toothpaste abrasive. Therefore, appropriate type should be selected according to specific applications.
