On fulfilling the requirements of animal protection organizations, a lot of countries passed strict laws related to animal protection,
especially livestock. Poultry cage housing in European Union countries is regulated by Council Directive ***9/*4/EC of *9 July ***9.
In ***5 the TEXHA company had developed cage equipment for laying hens housing according to European standards of poultry
cage housing based on the Directive.
The cage part of equipment consists of cage compartments placed in **6 tiers. The main elements of this part are external and
intermediate partitions.

TEXHA ’s Cage Equipment for Laying Hens Housing According to European
Standards Provides:

1. Optimal conditions for poultry housing
The cage is equipped with 3 roosts, what help birds feeling free and protects them from
emotional stress because of the closed space
The nest with a shutter and fake grass lets the birds feel comfortable
The incline of the floor is 7°. It enables free rolling down of eggs onto the egg-gathering
belt with flexible tray. It helps to reduce the incision on eggs while their rolling down. The
protective shield made from galvanized steel preserves eggs from pecking and prevents
falling of manure into feeding trays of lower tier
Using of solid diametrical galvanized partitions with perforation makes the system firm,
improves the microclimate in the poultry house, provides good air conditioning
The minimal using of plastic elements improves the hygiene and enables washing with
hot water under the pressure

2. Exploitation period
TEXHA’s cage equipment is made of high-quality steel covered with 1 class zinc
The floor mesh is profoundly firm and is supported by strained wire, what enables
comfortable and steady position of birds
The steel file-hard sprockets are used in the drives
The necessary firmness reserve has been provided

3. Low exploitation expenses
The energy-saving technologies are used in TEXHA’s cage equipment. The electrical devices
fixed power is 2.3 kW in each battery

Feeding System
TEXHA provides their Cage Equipment for Laying Hens Housing According to European Standards with feeding system, which has
hopper feed distribution. The system meets all requirements of modern poultry keeping.
The feed distribution mechanism
consists of two hoppers installed
on the special cart. The cart
is moving though the track by
means of rope traction driven by
motor-reducer.
The separate feed hoppers are
used on the battery. It prevents
bedding of feed with high grease
and moisture content.
The hoppers are made from steel
sheet and have the box shape.
The hoppers are filled with mixed feed by means of special
channels, which prevent feed pouring from compartment
into compartment during feed distribution.
The cart consists of frame and hoppers installed on the
frame. The dosing machine regulates feed distribution,
allows changing of shape and layer of feed distribution, and
does not let appearing of stagnant areas. The regulation
may also be done by raising of hoppers.
The feed distribution from external silo is done by means
of spiral transporter with 3.**4.5 tons per hour productivity. The shiny and grooved surface of the
silo does not let the overheating of feed.
In order to fake the natural conditions of poultry housing, the feed is given through the special
withdrawal from the feeding tray. While hopper is moving, part of the feed falls onto the mat inside the cage compartment. The
goal of the system is to imitate hen’s searching of feed in the grass.

Drinking System
Drinking system is one of the most important systems in life support of birds. TEXHA provides their Cage Equipment for Laying Hens
Housing According to European Standards with
simple, reliable, and effective drinking system.
Drinking System Components
- Water treatment unit, which includes water
meter, medicator, filter for mechanical water
cleaning, manometers, stop valves

pressure control in the drinking system

Cage Equipment for Laying Hens Housing Acc ording to European Standards
The drinking system is equipped with tanks with float valves. It can be equipped with pressure controllers if needed.
Each cage has three drinking bowls, what provides the birds with necessary amount of water.
The nipple drinking bowls are installed in the pipe *2x*2 mm by means of special equipment, what provides the high-qualitative
installation and prevents water leak in the joining areas. Non-using of glue contributes into high water quality. The pipes are
joined by means of coupling and yoke.

Manure Evacuation System
The manure evacuation system in TEXHA’s Cage Equipment for Laying Hens Housing According to European Standards enables fast
and qualitative manure removing. The system’s drive is powerful, simple, reliable, and durable.
The driving station is used for driving
of belts of manure evacuation
transporter. The station has collapsible
construction, which consists of 2 mm
thick sides and driving drums installed
on the special bearings with spherical
circular surface. The drums are driven
from the motor-reducers (two drums
per one motor-reducer) by means of
chain drive.
Adjuster station is used for regulation
and stretching of manure evacuation
transporters’ belts. The station consists
of frame with adjuster drums installed on it. The cases sync up with drums thanks to two screws connected by chain drive.
The longitudinal manure evacuation belts are made from solid polypropylene and installed under each tear of the cage. Scrapers
made from wear-resistant material clean the belts. The structure enables fast and qualitative manure evacuation onto diametrical
transporter.
Manure is removed by the inclined transporter and loaded on vehicle. The air humidity while manure evacuation is up to *5 %. It
works for fast and economical evacuation and using of manure as fertilizer. Timely manure evacuation and right manure consistence
don’t let the excessive ammonia and water evaporation. It contributes into favorable climate in the poultry house.

Egg Gathering System
The egg gathering system of TEXHA’s Cage Equipment for Laying
Hens Housing According to European Standards provides labor
reducing while egg gathering and sorting, meeting of biological
safety requirements, poultry stress reducing. Either lift or elevator
egg gathering system may be used in TEXHA’s Cage Equipment for
Laying Hens Housing According to European Standards.
Components of Lift Egg Gathering System:
- Longitudinal belt transporter
- Diametrical transporter with lift mechanism
- Inclined egg gathering transporter and roll-table
The elevator egg gathering system includes universal elevator
for egg gathering and laying onto egg transporting system. One
elevator is installed at each battery. It can be included into general
line of eggs transporting.
