General Description: 

Caustic soda is obtained from sodium hydroxde-technical grade, by electrolytic process.

It is a solid white, hygroscopic, odorless substance. 

Caustic soda easily dissolves in water, with heat release. 

The product is soluble in methyl and ethyl alcohols.

Sodium hydroxide is a strong electrolyte (completely ionized both in crystalline and solution states).

Sodium hydroxide is not volatile, but it rises easily in air as aerosols. It is insoluble in ethyl ether. 

Main Applications: 

Packaging:

Caustic Soda pearls/flakes is packed in palletized polyethylene bags of *5 kg (permissible variation ±0.2kg) and in 1 ton (permissible variation ±5 kg) bags made of polypropylene lined with polyethylene.

Caustic soda solid: un-painted drums made of 0.5mm corrugated or plate sheets, with maximum capacity of **0 kg net (max, permessible variation ±4kg).

Storage: 

Keep the product in tightly closed and properly labeled containers. 

Do not store caustic soda in aluminum container as flammable hydrogen gas can be produced.

Caustic soda should be stored under dry and cold spaces well-ventilated in order to avoid dust forming and spreading.

Never store caustic soda together with other group of materials such as: acids and ammonium salts.

Safety Approval :

As a class 8 corrosive substances, due to its corrosivity, careful storage and safety in production are needed, such as personnel has to wear protective equipment during the procedure of handling and storage. Keep it in a closed container in a dry warehouse.
