It is a sulfated chain Mucopolysaccharides sodium extracted from healthy porcine gular bone, nasal bone, trachea and other cartilage. Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium is the copolymer sodium sulfate of N-acetylgalactosamine (2 - acetamide - 2 deoxy - β - D - galactopyranosyl) and D-glucuronic acid. Hexose in the copolymer alternately connected by glucosidic bond β*1, 3 and β*1, 4.

Standard: CP***0, USP*4

Properties: it is white or almost white powder with slight salty taste, odorless and hygroscopic. Its aqueous solution is viscous and non-condensing by heating.

Main Specifications:

CP***0: it is considered as dry goods with chondroitin sulfate sodium contents *5.0% - **5% (for injection or ophthalmic use) and *5.0% - **5.0% (for oral use). Loss on drying should be no more than *0.0%. Residue on ignition should be *0.0% - *0.0%.
