Product Description

West End Forge Coal is fossilized plant material, and varies greatly in its properties. There are four main types.



Antracite is hard coal has ****8% carbon content and has ****5 thousand BTUs per pound.



Bituminous is soft coal has ****6% carbon content and ****5 thousand BTUs per pound.



Sub-bituminous has about ****5% carbon content and ***3 thousand BTUs per pound, and generally lower sulfur content.



Lignite is brown coal geologically speaking, with a low ****5% carbon content, and between 4 and 8 thousand BTUs per pound.
