SESEME SEEDS (sesamum indicum)
 
Also known as benniseed. An annual crop well adapted to dry tropical parts of the world. Major producing states in Nigeria are Nassarawa, Benue, Jigawa, Federal capital territory, and Kano. Main uses are pressing for cooking oil, as a meal, in confections, (very popular garnish on mcdonalds burgers), pastes,(e.g tahini a middle eastern delicacy).
 
The seeds are whitish or brown depending on specie, protected by a hull or skin. Seeds are usually cleaned, dried and then dehulled prior to pressing for oil.The meal left after oil extraction is an important source of protein especially in India.
 
Seeds are usually supplied whole, processing is limited to cleaning and drying.

We supply both the Oil grade i.e brown and the white food grade.

We have in house capability for the testing of moisture and are able to use modern sampling techniques to verify admixture and purity is within buyer specification.
