Sponge Iron
Description:
Sponge iron,also known as direct reduced iron sponge, using
high-quality ore, the use of oxidation-reduction reaction
principle, in addition to sediment through the filter approach to
exclude, for pipes, the boiler and recycled water dissolved oxygen
corrosion by water dissolved oxygen content of water up to 0.*5mg /
L or less. Having low backwash frequency, high compressive
strength, not powder, not compacted, large surface area. High
activity, good regeneration effect and so on.
Sponge Iron Feature:
Sponge iron is a metallic product produced through direct reduction
of iron ore in the solid state.
It is a substitute for scrap and is mainly used in making steel
through the secondary route. The
process of sponge iron making aims to remove the oxygen from iron
ore. The quality of sponge
iron is primarily ascertained by the percentage of metallization
(removal of oxygen),which is the
ratio of metallic iron to the total iron present in the
product.
