Regular type**-O-type rubber gasket: the two floating seal rings are in the same shape and used in pair, and the sealing face of the metal ring is on the side of outer circle. After one metal ring and one O-type rubber gasket are placed respectively in the two collars, the sealing face of another two floating seal rings shall be mated, with one ring remaining still and the other in rotational motion. The O-type rubber gasket in the collar is extruded axially by the collars against the collars and floating seal rings. The axial force is transferred to the sealing face of the two floating seal rings where the mutual resistance is formed. As such resistance is supported and maintained by the resilience force of O-type rubber gasket, the two rings are literally floating.          

When the floating seal with O-type rubber gasket is placed into the collar, install the rubber gasket evenly and straight without distortion or damage. Before the two pairs of floating seal placed into the collar are assembled, make sure that the sealing face of the two metal rings are clean and dust-free, and apply molybdenum disulfide or the lubricating oil used in this machine on the sealing face to ensure that the sealing face has film lubrication, so as to avoid the dry grinding without oil after installation and instant damage. Based on the past experience, as for floating seal using O-type rubber gasket, a little lubricating oil will be spilled out from the mating face of floating seal ring external diameter during about one-hour movement test-run period when it is just installed for commissioning, which is normal phenomenon instead of oil leakage.
