This high precision low cost grain moisture analyzer, designed and developed by United Phosphorus Ltd. in collaboration with Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh, is a fully microprocessor based instrument which can measure the moisture content of different food grains instantaneously. The instrument is a light weight, battery operated table top model. It is based on capacitance measurement and is simple to operate. Once switched ON, a user friendly menu automatically guides you with a sequence of operation to carry out the measurement. The measured data is displayed on its alphanumeric LCD display. The measurements are temperature compensated requiring no temperature correction in the range of 0 - *0° C. It has provision to store up to ***0 test results with sample identification data. A Uniphos GUI software is provided for data analysis after downloading the data on a computer. The moisture content in food grain, which determines its shelf-life, taste, quality & the price, is a much sought after parameter in the food grain business. Hence the availability of this high precision low cost instrument locally should prove to be a boon to grain industry for quality control.
