Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) - A Key Product In The Cement Industry

Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS)is a non-metallic co-product thats produced in the process of iron manufacturing. When molten slag is passed through high-volume high-pressure water sprays, a glassy sand-like (granulated) material is formed, known as Granulated Blast Furnace Slag. The color of this co-product is quite similar to that of beach sand. 

Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (or GBFS), when ground into a fine powder is called Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (or GGBS). Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag is widely used in the construction industry as a cement replacement to enhance the strength, durability, and life span of concrete structures.
