The gyro stick is a miniature joy stick , inside of the stick, has a resistive pad sensor , the resistive pad is a pressure sensitive device , the resistances vary with the force applying to the stick, a higher pressure a lower resistance , there are 8 areas patterns on PCB and combine with the resistive pad that to compose of 8 resistances and to present 8 directions (East, South-East, South-West, West, North-West, North, North-East) , these 8 resistances can be read and converts to a vector using a MCU with analog to digital integrator circuit , basically a R-C low cost A/D convert circuit . The MCU calculates the vector of resistance to form a coordinate of x axis and y axis of an mouse , and can be work in the serial mouse format or ps2 mouse format and in ***-degree cursor control.
