Whole chicken 1,**2,2kg with neck without giblets

Whole chicken griller without giblets grade A is a broiler of species Gallus domesticus (domestic fowls). It consists of a bled out, gutted whole chicken deprived of feathers, without giblets i.e., heart, liver, gizzard and neck, weighing 1,3 - 2,2 kg, which can be offered for sale. Whole chicken are packed loose or properly formed - the wings put on the back, legs wrapped with a rubber band or skin. Whole chicken griller without giblets should be: clean, free of any visible foreign matter, inorganic matter, pieces of metal, dirt or blood, free of visible bloodstains except for small, unobtrusive marks, without protruding bone fractures, without severe bruises. The neck should be cut off at the height of breast, neck's skin should cover the trachea (excess removed), paws cut off approximately 2 cm below the ankle, without bile stains. Fresh whole chicken must not show any traces of prior freezing. 

Whole chicken griller without giblets must be well-built: fully developed muscles, well developed wide long and fleshy breasts, muscular legs. Breast, backs and legs evenly covered with a thin layer of fat. On breast, legs, rump/tails, leg joints and wing tips single small feather residues (sticks) and filoplume feathers are acceptable. Some damage, bruises, discoloration is allowed provided that they are small (about 1 cm) and unobtrusive. The wing tip may be missing. Acceptable slight redness on wing tips and joint capsules. In the case of frozen and deep frozen whole chicken traces of freezer-burns are unacceptable, unless they are marginal, unobtrusive and are not present on breasts or legs.

Surface appearance: Fresh: whole chicken without neck of proper shape and musculature, surface clean, dirt or foreign bodies are unacceptable.

Colour:  Natural, characteristic of chicken; in case of frozen whole chicken - no signs of freezer burns (lighter color).

Smell:  Characteristic of chicken; unacceptable acidic, mouldy or any other foreign smell e.g. rancid
