Product Description

Heavy Melting Scrap

We deal in all kind of metal scrap HMS 1, HMS 1 & 2 and Aluminum. We can supply from port city to save on the Trucking. Like Miami, Florida, New Jersey and New york. We even have direct contract with ship liners and we get very competitive shipping price. We believe in doing a small first deal and then talk about doing bigger deal when we know our customers.

heavy melting scrap, and 1 & 2 are the two grades within that definition. They are widely traded, particularly in the western hemisphere.

  • (HMS 1): Wrought iron and/or steel scrap 1⁄4 inch and larger in thickness. All pieces must be smaller than *0x*4 in.
  • (HMS 1): Same as ISRI **0 except pieces must be smaller than *6x*8 in.
  • (HMS 1): Same as ISRI **0 except pieces must be smaller than *0x*8 in.
  • (HMS 2): Wrought iron and/or steel scrap, black and galvanized, 1⁄8 inch and larger in thickness.
  • (HMS 2): Same as ISRI **3 except pieces must be smaller than *6x*8 in.
  • (HMS 2): Same as ISRI **4 except it may contain automotive scrap except for thin gauge material.
  • (HMS 2): Same as ISRI **5 except pieces must be smaller than *0x*8 in.
Both HMS 1 & 2 comprise obsolete scrap only. That is iron and steel recovered from items demolished or dismantled at the end of their life.

This density, sizing and preparation makes for efficient furnace operation by mini-mising the time to charge enough scrap for a full melt. In contrast, thin mixed scrap greatly increases charging time, cutting furnace productivity.
