Male hormones, commonly called androgens, have an effect on hair roots in men and women, and an intermediary product of this hormone, dihydro-testesterons, causes hair root damages and hair loss and bolding occurs. Due to differences in genetic programs, whereas hair in certain sections of the head displays sensitivity to this hormone, especially hair in the back of the head is more insensitive to this hormone and generally does not fall off.
