Product Description

Maleic anhydride is a colorless, orthogonal needle or a white crystalline powder at room temperature, emitting a potent and irritating odor. It demonstrates solubility in water, acetone, benzene, chloroform, and various organic solvents, while it also sublimates when subjected to heat. Be cautious; it risks burning when exposed to high heat, open flames, or oxidants. Furthermore, it exhibits corrosive properties. When in contact with cold water, maleic anhydride undergoes a slow hydrolysis process to yield maleic acid. Caution must be exercised in the presence of strong oxidants, as it can lead to combustion and even explosion.
